Travel by the Pint

Travel by the Pint is a video podcast showcasing great beer destinations in America’s Heartland.

What makes a great beer destination? We travel. A lot. And when we’re on the road, we like to seek out the local flavor. Small shops, attractions and restaurants that are unique and special. Local brewpubs, as well. That’s what makes a great beer destination: a place with some color, character and a good refreshing beer at the end of the day.

We want to share these destinations with you. We’ll interview brewmasters and pub owners to find out what makes them special and, along the way, we’ll show you some highlights of the area that you can enjoy when you pay a visit of your own.

It’s not just about the beer — it’s the people who make it and create great places for us to enjoy it in. Join us for Season One: A Taste of the Heartland. We’ll visit Michigan, Texas, Arkansas, and Kentucky as we seek out fresh pints. Season Two will cover more of America and we’re planning future episodes that will take us around the world as we explore all that is hoppy and wonderful.

Travel by the Pint is produced by Sally M. Snell and Michael C. Snell. Seasoned travel journalists and craft beer enthusiasts, we have always sought out local establishments when we're on the road — brewpubs included. Travel by the Pint was created to share these finds, and others, with you.

There should be something in our vidcast for everyone. We're not (yet) beer experts but love learning more about this creative culinary art. We hope you enjoy learning along with us. If you are already a true beer geek, don't worry, you'll hear directly from the brewmasters and brewpub owners about their craft.

We see this project as a journey. We have big plans for the future and will add features to the vidcast and this site as time goes on.
